Evaluating the results of the interventions of the Institutional Excellence Grant for NGOs - Second Cycle 2024-2025
During the months of August and September, the work team at the Arab Center for the Sustainability of Civil Work completed the implementation of the Institutional Excellence Grant activities, where a post-hoc institutional evaluation was conducted for 53 organizations. Egyptian and Arab civil society, after completing the implementation of institutional development interventions according to the agreed upon timetable for the grant, which was implemented during the period from October 2024 until August 2025.
The grant went through several main stages, as it was launched in October 2024 and 179 Egyptian and Arab NGOs applied for it. According to the announced standards and conditions, 53 Egyptian NGOs and 5 Arab NGOs were accepted.
Following the selection, a pre-institutional assessment was conducted to identify institutional capabilities, then an institutional development plan tailored to each organization was prepared according to its needs, to implement a set of interventions aimed at strengthening institutional and organizational capabilities and overcoming challenges. In the last stage, a post-institutional evaluation was conducted to measure the impact of the change and determine the level of improvement achieved.
The post-institutional evaluation represents an essential step to prepare NGOs to graduate from the scholarship and join the network of NGO graduates in the Institutional Performance Development Laboratory of the Arab Center for Business Sustainability Al-Ahly.
It is worth noting that all grant services were provided free of charge to civil society organizations, as part of the Arab Center’s commitment to enhancing the sustainability of the civil sector.
These efforts come within the framework of the community vision document for developing the NGO sector, issued by the Arab Center for the Sustainability of NGOs, affiliated with the Misr Al-Kheir Foundation, which aims to support the process of institutional reform and build more effective NGOs. And sustainability, capable of carrying out its development role efficiently and responsibly.
